From signup to owning income-producing units

Retail is the most protected track: identity is verified before any money moves, amounts are capped ($5,000 per offering, $10,000 per calendar year), and every step leaves signed, hashed evidence. This journey walks the whole arc: account, identity, first subscription, escrow, settlement and income, including the moments where a Blackant operator has to act before you can continue.

A recorded run of this exact journey — every step below, performed live on the platform, with every click shown (about 3 minutes).

01

Create the account

Signup only needs a name, email, password and country. Everything regulated happens in the six-step wizard that follows.

  1. 1

Open the investor portal login and choose “Create an account”.

    http://app.blackant.tech/join

Expect · The account step: full legal name, email, password, country of residence, and the “How you’ll invest” track picker. Ghana retail is pre-selected when the country is Ghana.

  2. 2

Continue. The wizard opens on Identity with all six steps in the rail: Account ✓ → Identity → Address → Suitability → Classification → Wallet.

    /join/identity

Expect · Every step saves as you finish it; you can close the tab and log back in to continue exactly where you left.

  3. 3

Identity: pick Ghana Card or passport, enter the document number, date of birth and nationality, and attach the photo page.

    /join/identity

Expect · Only the file’s digest and name are retained once the check completes. The card says raw images are deleted.

Address next: street, city, country plus one proof document (utility bill, bank statement…).

  4. 4

Suitability: answer the three questions and tick the illiquidity acknowledgement, then submit.

    /join/suitability

Expect · Classification confirms you as a Retail Investor with the caps in writing: $10,000 annual, $5,000 per offering, 6 of 7 offerings eligible, and a 48-hour cooling-off per subscription.

  5. 5

Wallet: finish with “Create digital asset account & submit”.

    /join/wallet

Expect · One act does both: your account on the asset ledger is created (its BA-DA reference appears under Settings) and the whole application submits. You land in the portal marked IN REVIEW. A KYC case and an AML screening cycle are now open for compliance.

02

Get verified (operators act twice)

Two separate controls gate participation: the KYC case (identity) and the AML/sanctions screening cycle. Each is decided by people under maker/checker: whoever recommends cannot also decide.

Handoff · Switch hats: log in as Naa (compliance) on the console, and Kojo for the second signature. Two browser windows make this painless.

  1. 6

As Naa, open the compliance queue and select the “New account review” case (worked oldest-first).

    http://admin.blackant.tech/compliance/queue

Expect · The case shows the provider evidence (your masked document, submission date, provider checks) with its evidence hash.

  2. 7

Write a rationale and click “Recommend approval”.

    /compliance/queue

Expect · The case moves to the “Awaiting decision” tab. If Naa opens it there, the approve/reject buttons are absent, and the banner says you cannot decide a case you recommended.

  3. 8

As Kojo, open the “Awaiting decision” tab, select the case and Approve.

    /compliance/queue

Expect · The investor flips to VERIFIED and the portal header pill updates. Investing stays locked until the screening cycle also clears.

  4. 9

Clear the AML screening the same two-person way: one operator “Recommend clear” with a note, the other decides “Clear screening” from Awaiting decision.

    http://admin.blackant.tech/compliance/screening

Expect · The cycle shows CLEAR. Until this lands, the checkout’s eligibility panel blocks with “Your AML and sanctions screening is still under review”.

03

Add a funding account

Money can only move against a named, verified account.

  1. 10

Open Settings → Accounts and add a funding account (bank or USDC).

    http://app.blackant.tech/settings

Expect · The account appears with a masked reference and a verification state.

  2. 11

Click “Attest & verify” on the account card.

    /settings

Expect · Verification completes: the card shows VERIFIED, and your first account becomes DEFAULT automatically.

Payout accounts (where income lands) live in the same tab and verify the same way.

04

Subscribe to an offering

The catalog only shows what your eligibility permits, and your exact amount is re-checked before anything is created.

  1. 12

Browse Offerings and open one that is OPEN — Ghana Property Basket (BA-GPB) is the retail-friendly pick.

    http://app.blackant.tech/offerings

Expect · Six of seven offerings show for a fresh retail account, with a banner counting what your limits hide (the Tema data centre is restricted). The detail page shows the asset record, documents, policies and yield basis.

  2. 13

Click “Invest in this asset” and set your amount — try $500.

    /invest/BA-GPB/amount

Expect · Quick-amount chips end at “$5,000 (your cap)”. The panel prices tokens, adds the 1.5% fee, projects income, and shows YOUR LIMITS filling live ($500 of $5,000 / $500 of $10,000). The eligibility verdict for this exact amount reads “Eligible for this offering · policy v1”.

Retail caps: $5,000 per offering, $10,000 per calendar year. Amounts over a cap are refused with the reason stated.

  3. 14

“Review the agreement”: read the four plain-language risk cards, then tick the signature — “I sign the subscription agreement as <your name>”.

    /invest/BA-GPB/agreement

Expect · The signature binds the exact document versions listed (offering memorandum, risk disclosure and subscription agreement, each with its version number); the signing evidence is hashed and kept.

  4. 15

“Sign and continue to funding”: pick a rail, note the trustee escrow beneficiary and your payment reference, then click “I’ve sent the payment”.

    /invest/BA-GPB/fund

Expect · Money goes to the trustee’s escrow account, never to Blackant. The reference (e.g. BA-GPB-44871) is how the feed credit finds your subscription.

  5. 16

Read the confirmation screen, then your portfolio.

    /invest/BA-GPB/confirmed

Expect · The subscription shows “awaiting reconciliation → tokens mint at close”, and the portfolio grows a needs-attention card: “$507.50 in escrow”.

You can cancel penalty-free for 48 hours after signing. The cooling-off deadline is printed on this screen.

05

Settlement (operators close the round)

Units exist only after the round closes: allocations are computed, the ledger mints, and the register updates in one transaction.

Handoff · An operator confirms your money arrived; the platform admin closes the round.

  1. 17

As Kojo, open the offering’s register and click “Mark received” on your subscription. This records the trustee’s confirmation of the wire.

    http://admin.blackant.tech/register/BA-GPB

Expect · The row flips AWAITING FUNDS → IN ESCROW and the close button starts counting: “Close round (1 in escrow)”.

Bank-feed credits recorded under Escrow reconcile through auto-match instead; an investor-reported payment reconciles right here on the register.

  2. 18

When the raise is ready, close the round.

    /register/BA-GPB

Expect · Close settles every in-escrow subscription in one act: allocations computed, units minted on the ledger, fees swept, and the escrow principal turned into a governed release request for a second approver.

One-shot per offering: closing ends the raise for everyone following this journey after you. Explore up to the button freely; only close when you want to see settlement. `pnpm --filter @blackant/api db:reset` rebuilds the whole demo world.

  3. 19

Back as the investor, open your portfolio.

    http://app.blackant.tech/portfolio

Expect · The holding appears with tokens, value at NAV, and the countersigned agreement in Documents.

06

Live as a holder

Everything after settlement is evidence you can read: income, statements, documents, and a controlled exit lane.

  1. 20

Open Income after a distribution runs.

    http://app.blackant.tech/income

Expect · One row per record-date entitlement: units held on the record date, rate, gross, tax withheld, net, payment state, and a statement link.

A failed payout stays payable at the same amounts until the account is corrected. The entitlement amounts do not change.

  2. 21

Open Documents and generate a tax statement for a year with paid income.

    http://app.blackant.tech/documents

Expect · The statement is generated from frozen payment evidence. A year with no paid income is refused.

  3. 22

During an open quarterly window, place a sell order in Exit & transfers.

    http://app.blackant.tech/transfers

Expect · Sell units are reserved immediately; buys must fund trustee escrow before they enter matching. Matches settle bilaterally at the frozen NAV.

  4. 23

Update your profile or claim a higher tier under Settings → Identity & limits.

    http://app.blackant.tech/settings

Expect · Profile changes are versioned and, when material, trigger re-screening. A tier claim opens a compliance case. The higher limits apply only after a maker/checker approval.

  5. 24

If something goes wrong, file a complaint under Settings → Support.

    http://app.blackant.tech/settings

Expect · The complaint lands in the compliance tray with an owning task; resolution closes both together and you see the outcome.
